LA MER THE MOISTURIZING COOL GEL CREAM REVIEW

It's been a long holiday and I haven't been writing since maybe 3 weeks. So now I'm back with a new skin care review. Here's La Mer The Moisturizing Cool Gel Cream. The most expensive moisturizer I've ever tried. 😍😍😍

Last month, I attended La Mer beauty event at Galaxy Mall. They launched the newest moisturizer that suitable for all skin type. During the event, I had a chance to try a hand massage treatment and they gave a sample size of La Mer The Moisturizing Cool Gel Cream (3.5 ml) as a welcome gift.

I was really excited because I know that La Mer is a really expensive and popular high end brand from UK which claimed to be perfect for anti aging. Many hollywood celebrity use this brand and I was curious what made this brand so expensive and how good it works on the skin. So now, all those curiousity is finally answered. 😍😍😍

Before I start talking about the product, here's the story behind La Mer.

La Mer’s journey began when Dr. Max Huber suffered burns in an experiment gone awry and set out to create his own destiny. Physicist by day, stargazer and dreamer by night, he hoped to unlock the healing power of the sea he held so dear.

Inspired by the oceanic world, Huber fermented nutrient-rich sea kelp with other natural ingredients. 12 years and 6,000 experiments later, Crème de la Mer was born – and Huber’s skin visibly restored.

That's all the story.

Here I got a sample size La Mer The Moisturizing Cool Gel cream that comes in a green box. They wrote all the information about this product on it. I couldn't understand what was written on the packaging box since they used france and maybe russian language (I'm not sure).

I tried to google about this product and here's what I got from the website.

Inside the box, there's a small white plastic jar contain 3.5 ml gel cream and it's just exactly the same shape, colour and design as the full size one that contains 80 ml.

Just like the name, this moisturizer has a quite thick gel texture in broken white color. And it has a light powdery scent that will soon gone after application.

The texture is light weight and easy to spread, easy to absorbed and doesn't leave sticky feeling. And you can see an instant glow right after application. Here's how the texture looks after applied.

I've been using this cream for a week and I only use very little since it's soooo expensive. I just don't want to waste it. Here I will show how it looks on my face before and after using this gel cream right away.

At the comparison pic above, you can see my skin looks more glowing after applying the gel cream. And this cream glides smoothly and directly absorbed into my skin. It doesn't feel heavy at all. 

Based on my experience using this gel cream, here's my pros and cons.

Pros :
~ very lightweight
~ easy to absorb
~ doesn't break me out
~ gives an instant glowing to my skin
~ has a nice and light powdery scent
~ makes your foundie looks better
~ firms my skin

Cons :
~ super pricey

So here's my conclusion about this product. This gel cream has a power to work like my usual essence, serum and moisturizer all in one. The result that I feel  after using this cream alone is the same as if I use my daily skin care routine. Plus it gives glowing effect.

However, the price of my daily skin care routine is less than half the price of this fullsize La mer gel cream. So considering my earn each month, I still choose to go on with my daily skin care routine. But I will give this cream 5 thumbs up and I'm so grateful to have a chance to try this super high end product.

If you ask me whether this cream is worth to buy, I will say yes if you have no budget for your skin care. But if you are on a budget like me, there are still many skin care choice with reasonable price that you can combine to achieve the similar result.

Miracle in July

I don't usually write about my life on my blog. As a beauty blogger, almost all my post are about make up, skin care, hair care and everything that related to beauty. But this time, I feel that I need to write about the moment in my life which I can say a MIRACLE.

Two weeks ago, I lost one of my tooth filling on the upper right side or we call it upper right molar teeth. I knew that the solution would be dentist but I was too lazy and afraid to face all those dental tools. Beside, it didn't hurt at first. However, this problem was quite bothering since almost everytime I eat, there were always food trapped inside, so I need to brush my teeth over and over again.

On the 3rd day, another food trapped inside the my molar hole and this time it caused pain. Okay, that meant dentist was calling. I checked for my schedule and I can go to the dentist 4 days after due to the schedule. I didn't want to make it worse so I use my right teeth for chewing. Which I didn't used to.

Two days after using my right molar teeth, i felt it hurt even worse than the left molar. And the dentist appointment was still 2 days ahead. The only solution would be, I had to eat something soft so I didn't need to chew too hard. But still, it hurt.

To make a long story short, I went to the dentist on the due date. 30 minutes before, I swallowed a pain killer pill. See, I was too afraid of the pain of dental drill. And my right teeth was still aching. It bothered me too bad. So I was at the dentist and she asked me what the problem and examined my teeth.

I explained what happened from the beginning. And when she checked my right molar, she said that two of my right molar was already broken. There was no crown, only the root remaining and she suggested that it has to be pulled out. What??? It was the scariest thing. 

So let me explain. Long time ago, I had braces and the dentist that treated me said that I need to do the surgery to take out my wisdom teeth before it appear since it could destroy other teeth considering to the space.

Well, if you know me, you'll know that I'd never gonna do that. I'd rather let it grew to any direction it supposed to be no matter how bax my teeth would perform. Surgery sounds like a nightmare for me. Beside, it didn't show any sign that my wisdom teeth would grow. So why hurting myself with the surgery? I know it was a stupid thought. 😂

Back to the story, all the problem on my molar exists because my wisdom teeth was appear without I even realized and destroyed other molar teeth. But still I didn't have courage to face the surgery. I asked the dentist if she had any other solution. But she said it was the only solution or it will getting worse one day.

So she treated my right molar which actually the main reason why I went there. I didn't really feel the pain when she drilled my molar. Maybe it was because of the pain killer pill. She also treated my front teeth which I planned to. 

For my molar, she filled it with temporary filler and will be filled permanently a week after. And she said that I wasn't allowed to use this teeth for 24 hours ahead.

Okay, so I need to use my left molar which was hurt? Or I should do fasting for 24 hours? Gladly I had the solution. It was ice cream. I ate ice cream all day and it helps. At night, my left molar felt aching and it was worse than before. The pain spreaded into my tongue and neck and I guess my gum was swollen.

I tried to bear with the pain without the pain killer pil. I remember the time when I had my first toothache back in my teenager life and it was disaster. I didn't want to feel it again. So what now? Should I decided to had surgery? Nooooo 😣😣😣

The pain didn't go until morning. I was googling about how to handle this pain. What other solution beside the surgery. And i found some article about root canal. Okay my heart went to this. But it was so expensive. About 4 million. And I didn't know whether it was the right solution to solve this problem.

At 9 am I went to church. Still aching. Within my pain, I prayed to God. Please gimme solution for this. Root canal or surgery. Both were not the option that were easy to face. But I had no choice. So I asked for a courage to face this. I asked for a strength so I could bear with the pain of all those treatment I must face.

I went home and the pain was getting worse. That day, me n my family were gonna have a bbq dinner and it was quite a relieve that I can use my right molar since tge 24 hours has passed.

During bbq dinner, i tried to hide the pain. I felt aching everytime i opened my mouth or chewing or talking. But the food taste so good so I tried to enjoy it and ignored the pain.

After finished dinner, i talked to my brother. But suddenly I was choked. I grabbed my drink and drank it quick. But suddenly i tasted something strange. It was like blood or pus. I wasn't sure. I drank some more tea and.... suddenly i could feel the pain was slowly disappear. Praise the Lord. That was such a big relieve. I directly prayed from deep inside and said. LORD, THANK YOU!!!! That pain was gone. In just seconds. And it was because of HIM.

After dinner, we were chilling at the coffeeshop and I still couldn't believe it was real. There were still some pain from the back of my tongue but it was only 5% compare to the pain when my gum still swollen.

I could sleep well that night and I really can't thankful enough for the miracle I had. It was 1st of July. The beginning of the month. A month where I thought would be a nightmare but then God changed the pain into joy and I feel soooo blessed and relieve.

And right now, the 2nd of July, the pain is 100% gone. My fear was over come and I can do my job teaching dance without pain killer pill. I don't need to waste my money to pay for the root canal. And I don't need to have that nightmare surgery. Thank you thank you and more thank you Lord for this miracle.
